Loving In 3D!!!

I went to the Saks MAC counter yesterday to try these out (side comment: I love this one sooo much better than the actual MAC store in the FL Mall, they are so much more helpful here and there is hardly ever anyone in there, so you feel like you have all of the MAC stuff to yourself...yipppeeee).

Anywho....back to In 3D!!!

These are so great! I must admit that I wasn't impressed by all of the colors, but I ended up buying Wondershine (pink shimmery color) and still want to get Boundless (red color), Racy (hot pink color), and In 3D (pink coral color) (although I don't know if my bank is going to agree with that at $14 each). For now I guess I'm just going to be content with Wondershine. Most of the other colors (not all), I felt were a bit too light for my color (NW45).

Now here's my take on these:

The color payoff isn't that bold, so don't expect to get the color you see when you actually apply them, they are kinda sheer. However, they do give your lips a great tint.

Like I said previously, I have never purchased a MAC lip product, so I really can't compare them to any of MAC's other lip products. I would compare the feeling when applied very much to a lip balm. I can't really explain it, but your lips just feel sooo moisturized....and glossy too, very high shine!

The MA to me that these are made to be applied with the lip glass pencils because they are so sheer. I tried out the lip glass pencils on my hand, not lips, and they seem great too! They go on very smooth and have a little shine to them (I would say more like a moisturized lip pencil). I think you have to sharpen these, which I really didn't like that about them.

Overall, I think this is a great new line. Too bad it's not permanent, so get some while you can!

In 3D!!!

I'm really excited about this new In 3D lip product line that MAC is coming out with (3D Glass and Lipglass Pencils). Although I have yet to test the products, I have heard really great things about them. I'm the type of person that for some reason can't bring myself to pay more than $5 for lip products, so I have yet to purchase a MAC lip product. I usually just stick to the drugstore brands, and keep it movin'. It's funny how I can spend $14 on an eyeshadow, but am so cheap when it comes to the lips (lol). I think this collection is going to be the one to change that.

MAC describes the 3D Glass as "A lipcolour that fuses a high gloss wet-look finish with balm-style emolliency and conditioning. Delivers 3D-style dimension to the lips through an innovative combo-blend of extreme pearl and multi-reflective shine. Non-sticky, smooth to apply. Instantly moisturizing and comfortable to wear. The unique high-fashion look and finish lasts for hours."

MAC describes the Lipglass Pencils as "A lip pencil that defines the lips with a lightweight shine. Looks sheer. Created to complement all gloss-finished lipcolour and Lipglass."

I really hope this line lives up to all of the hype...guess I'll find out come August. To be continued...

Rushmetal & Flashtronic...Disappointed :(

Well I rushed over to my nearest MAC counter after work on Friday to check out these new lines and sad to say, I was truly disappointed by these lines. I was really looking forward to getting a couple of the MSFs but once trying them out, found them to be way to light for my NW45 skin (They made me look ashy.).
So after my hopes were crushed about the MSFs, I just knew I would find comfort in the Flashtronic eyeshadows and Rushmetal pigments...WRONG! In my opinion, there was way too much hype over the eyeshadows. Yes, they look very pretty in the pot with all the veining and stuff, but I'm really not feeling their "frostiness" (is that a word?...lol). They also give off that ashy look and the colors where just "ok"...nothing to brag about.

The only thing that somewhat caught my eye were a couple of the Rushmetal pigments, definitely not all of them. I was really looking forward to trying out the "Off the Radar" pigment, but wasn't too impressed by it either. The other colors were really dull, earthy tones which, again, didn't impress me much. I did like the "Copperized" pigment!

I decided that I would take a trip to Nordstrom and get one of the Pearlizers from the Novel Twist collection that I had on my list to buy being that I was already in the mall. Who has the best luck?!?....certainly NOT me, of course the one that I wanted was Sold Out, but they had plenty of the the other one that I did NOT want. This day was just getting better and better. One of the makeup artists tried to sell me a bronzer that was similar to it, but the point of buying the Pearlizer from this collection was that you got a free brush with it for like $25, the brush alone costs more than that! I ended up walking out of Nordstrom with nothing.
All in all, I was starting to feel my trip was a complete waste!

I decided to take a trip to Sephora to ease some of my disappointment...you can't go wrong in Sephora, there's too much to choose from. To my surprise, they were having a major sale on some of their brushes, like 50-60% off (of course the 1 brush that I really wanted, they were sold out of...go figure!).

I did, however, pick up some brush cleaner and this face primer they have. I think it's kinda like the Smashbox photofinish, but Sephora's brand of it. I really like it; it makes your face so smooth and ready for your foundation! I found that my foundation went on much smoother than it normally does.

In conclusion,

Rushmetal and Flashtronic get no thumbs up from me...I guess I'll just look forward to the next line.
